At BMECS we work by addressing the needs of families and individuals from the Black and Minority Ethnic communities offering the following services:

  • Capacity building for ethnic minority ommunities in Adur, Arun, Chichester and Worthing Districts working in closely with the existing and new ethnic minority groups offering culturally appropriate supportive services

  • We offer a safe, supportive, anti-racist, culturally diverse service for black and mnority ethnic families and individuals and their families and to meet and discuss issues of common concerns.


    • Access to appropriate social/health care services.

    • Family crisis intervention.

    • Drop-in for victims of racism and other forms of abuse

    • Peer education

    • Befriending.

    • Mentoring.

    • Volunteering opportunities.

    • Life skills training

    • CV writing support

    • Employment advice

    • Day Trips

    • Multicultural activities

Children and Young People

  • We support and encourage activities for children and young people of all ethnic minority backgrounds from isolated and marginalised families working inline with the Governments intiative of every child matters, whatever their background or their circumstances, supporting them in:


    • being healthy

    • making a positive contribution and;

    • achieving economic well-being.
